True True. What Diy says it's true! We need to maintain our human relationship before we can start discussing about animals. WE can overreact because we just feel helpless, we just want to do something but sometimes emotions really seems to piss a lot of people. Our start might be different but our end definately ends the same place..

i think i have been "promoting" to become vegetarian for very long, actually no one have really actually become one and most seems pissed when i talked about it but at least i am glad that more people around me are starting to eat vegetarian food. At least i save one animal from there..i know i cant really say such words but i think a little part though cant really save a lot, it would still accumulates to a huge part someday.

Same as dolphin hunting, if a little reaction and word would stop dolphin which The Cove did. I think it is good start. It has saved 70 dolphins from now, i hope more would be saved.

Good news is Tokyo Film Festival decides to showcase The Cove after deep discussion. At least the other japanese should see what their fellows neighbours are doing.

I have a question to ask the people who read this blog,

Do you think Dolphins shows should be allowed?

I apologise if i pissed you because i think at least I must start a part , if you can sympathise Dolphins, whales, sharks, can you sympathise the little fishes too?

Hi guys, so it seems emotions are running high at the moment thanks to The Cove. And I'm pretty sure those feelings are warranted, I've not watched the movie but I've read up a lot on the issue and looked at gruesome pictures of whales and dolphins getting massacred and as a result felt so many things, from disbelief to anger to sadness and most of all, helplessness.

Oftentimes though, I wonder if in the midst off all these "let's save the world" crusades we embark on, we are actually unaware of how we can sometimes overreact. With one of the exceptions being the unnecessary dolphin killings, some so-called causes are just puzzling to me and the organizations which promote them can be downright...what's the word....oh yeah, INSANE.

Let's look at PETA for example. I think wearing fur is disgusting and people who purchase fur coats, at the same time knowing HOW the fur is obtained make me sick. But does this make throwing flour at said people, cussing at them and basically humiliating them justifiable? I don't know, but it does make PETA look like assholes themselves and like Chels mentioned two posts below, you only get your 5 min in the spotlight and then it's over. People even forget what the hell it was you were trying to promote.

As someone who's had people question some of my personal beliefs before, I find it very aggravating when people try to feed me their ideas, hoping that I'd conform to them and at the same time try to make me feel guilty about the way I'm living. It especially grates my nerves when people think they're somehow better than you because of their beliefs. Sorry to break it to you, but there is such a thing as mutual respect and understanding of someone who decides to believe in something different from you. If something about what the person does really bother you, I think there's a way to talk it out with this person, have discussions, go out for coffee! God knows this world needs more friendly, healthy relationships more than ever.

So I guess what all this blabbering concludes to, is that we need to find a way to encourage people to care about our planet without destroying the relationships we have with one another.

With that said, I also think that we, as dwellers of this magnificent place called Earth, could be more passionate about certain issues which directly affect us. And as humans, we can actually speak for those poor animals who don't have the means to voice out how they, as citizens of the same planet, feel and hurt. This is where I'm glad you guys come in :) I love this blog!

Before I go off, I want to share this hilarious video. It kinda pokes fun at the whole "let's go green" mentality some people are obsessed about. I think this reminds us that we might have the best intentions in promoting our causes, but sometimes we just need to freakin' CHILL.

p.s.: i miss julia stiles. i shall go watch 10 things i hate about you now.

The Cove

ok dudes, on a sidenote..i opened Yahoo! and saw this news:

"Ozone hole smaller in 2009 than 2008."
http://sg.news.yahoo.com/afp/20090916/tts-science-climate-warming-ozone-wmo-c1b2fc3.html

Great job guys, if we keep it up, we may be able to buy some time for our scientists to help recover our ozone layer!! yay! Alright, switch off the main switch and spray less insecticide etc, got it! :)

The Cove

Thanks to Diy, who introduced the show, i managed to catch it tonight with Rosy and the sis. Well, i bet Rosy and my sis are racking their head out trying to blog out how we felt and what we saw tonight on the film and same here, i'm just trying to find the right words to say to express how i feel. we are in a situation now where we type something and the next minute, we backspace it...truth is, there is too much to say and too much we felt. For one, i am really really glad that i watched it, i needed that boost, to pressure me into wanting to help. i felt ashamed halfway through, after seeing what people did for the dolphins in taiji, getting arrested, and really, getting yourself into really deep shit. i wished i could do the same, i wished i had the guts. and you know how you watch these kinda shows and get really agitated and start to think nonsense, well, at one point, the irrational part of me said: "heck japan, i will go there and throw myself in between the dolphins and the fishermen, get myself killed or arrested or banned from japan, i dont care." WHO wouldn't think of that??! but then after awhile, you start to think, so what do you get when you get arrested/killed/banned from japan? answer: that 2 minutes of fame on the news, which really isnt worth it at all. right ok, more about the show, less about me. i thought two scenes were particularly impactful:

1. the escaped dolphin
i think this little baby did more than he/she ever imagined. this little dolphin could be the reason why 5 strangers have decided to become vegetarians, and the reason why this film will be getting a million and one awards. this little dolphin must have knew, he/she swam out of the cove, towards the shore, towards the camera crew with his/her blood trailing along behind, trying to endure the pain, you could see him/her thrashing about and then the camera shot a hole in the belly before he/she finally gave up...tell me, what else can you do?

2. Mr Ric O'Barry
o brilliant man, he, banned by the international whaling commission from attending their meetings, walked into the room while the meeting ws in procession, with a TV hanging over his chest. the tv was playing footages of the dolphin massacre. he walked among the rows, in front of all the delegates who were surprised by this latest method of advertisement and then stood right in the middle of the stage, without even saying anything (i think). all the media just came straight up to him and his tv and started rolling away....until security came and brought him away. what an awesome thing to do. forget titanic or jurassic park, this is the best scene i have ever seen in my whole entire life up till now and i thank him for it. i think he might have just jumped to the no.2 spot in my role model list (after mr steve irwin of course.)haha!

anyways, i absolutely love this film and i feel like i just got an extra push! i hope i continue to work hard and think about the dolphins and whales and all other animals! if i am not wrong, the taiji massacre is still suspended and lets hope it remains suspended forever! brilliant, i am now waiting for the news to report the ban on whaling and dolphin slaughter! be strong guys!

for Ric o'barry, for the OPS team and for everyone who loves our dolphins, we will do it :)

loves,

SAVE THE DOLPHINS!

The cove is absolutely great and impactful. We deserve to know the truth and it shows almost everything.

I am happy that this movie is made and proud that film once more did a great impact to the world.

How can we let such killing go on! The Japanese official for
International Whaling Commission and the japanese fishermen still dare to mention that they have found a way to kill the dolphin faster with less pain!

It's a disgrace they dont realise how cruel and how much dolphins are killed. I remember the smile on their face when killing the dolphins and how red the sea has being dyed with.

See below on how gruesome the Japanese are!!

I've decided to boycott Japanese goods all my life until they stop such cruel acts
1) No more Japanese food , no Sakae, Sushi Tei even my favourite Tempura Yasai!
2) I would never go to any natsu masuri or any jap festival
3) No more jap brands
4) No Jap Dramas and music
5) I'm selling my yukata!
6) I'm not going to step to Japan anymore until they stop killing the whales

I'm forever not going to buy any Japanese goods because how can I worship a culture that supports killing of innocent lifes! Though i'm just one individual and even stopping buying japanese goods might nt do a part, i believe at least i am nt giving a part of money i spent to whaling!

I hope those who saw this post, please do a thing and spread the word on saving the dolphins and whales.

"I hope you'll join me in this campaign to stop the killing of dolphins in Japan. Most people in Japan don't have any idea that the dolphin slaughter is even happening. If we can spread the word around the world - and especially in Japan - we can expose the secret of Taiji and force the Japanese government to stop it. We can win this issue - but we need your help!"
By Ric O Barry, a brave dolphin saver that dares to take part in filming of the slaughter of dolphins

Shark Fin Soup

hey guys!

so...today i broke a record. i have indirectly caused the death of some sharks. nope, i did not drink shark fin soup, but i went into a restaurant which served it. i know i know, i hate myself too...........well let me explain myself, my uncle said he knew a place which has amazing chicken rice so i thought they only sold CHICKEN!! who knew?! 2 seconds after we're seated, my brother pushed the first page of the menu in my face: Shark Fin Soup. darn it, i should have asked, i should have seen the dried shark fin displayed at the counter. oh kill me...i deserve to die. 84 bucks on the bill, that will be part of what's killing our sharks. BOO ME.

actually, think i might have mentioned on my personal blog before: i used to drink shark fin soup. until my sis stopped and explained to me about finning and how the sharks are thrown back into the ocean without their fins. amazing knowledge my sis...im glad she knew about finning and taught me about it, if not, this blog wouldn't exist and i will still be drinking shark fin soup! well, slowly but surely, we are going to help our sharks.

From now on, I will NOT step into any restaurants which serves Shark Fin soup. (unless of course, it's really really necessary...for businesses or weddings...) my cousin is getting married soon and his family is a REALLY REALLY traditional chinese family, i shall pluck up my courage to ask him NOT to serve Shark Fin Soup. wish me luck!

another thought: what if we stopped this shark finning thing, and the shark population gets soooo big that we have no more fish!!? and then we have to start hunting them again to balance out the population? oh man, i dont know. haha!

ok,save the sharks, save the world! HAHA!

Last Sat , after i came back from violin class, i turned on the tv,i didnt expect to see such an horrified scene.

A fish being sliced and fried alive, its eyes and mouth was moving and seems so much in pain. I was freaked out and cried. What did a fish did to suffer like this? The voice over was introducing how nice the fish is. How can we do such a cruel thing? See a life just suffered and died without helping! And still describe how good the fish taste!

To us, they are delicious food but to them, this is hell! They are a life. They are the same like whale and dophins. All of them deserve to live! Not only dophins and whales, all fishs and living thing deserve to live. They are all the same.

I cant believe i seen such scene in front of me before few years ago. I am born a meat eater too but i converted in firm belief they deserve to live. They are like us,deserve to live happily in their world.

I hope more people can understand what they are doing.

If you cant stop eating meat, eat lesser first!I know it's hard but you would never know until you try!

Proud to be a vegetarian,

The Cove

Hey guys, so there's this new documentary which is out in the theaters, The Cove. If you love dolphins (seriously, who doesn't?), or just care about the environment in general, you have to watch it. Well, I haven't watched it cos I'm kinda..scared to? Haha reason being this film exposes the annual killing of more than 2,500 dolphins in a National Park at Taiji, Wakayama in Japan.

The filmmakers were smart and innovative; they used specialized camouflaged high-definition cameras that were designed to look like rocks. I imagine if the angry Japanese fishermen knew they were filming, the crew would have been slaughtered too.

Thing is, what do they kill the dolphins for? Gotta look it up.

Although I'm a wuss and can't bear to look at the dolphins getting killed, I might just have to go see this as I believe it's an important film in the context of the whole conservation movement happening now. Plus, the reviews have been glowing.
