I'm going to say that i do agree with the above quote. Like people in the african countries who eat bushmeat, we cannot stop the inuit people from carrying on their tradition of hunting seals, because they live by it. but can we reduce the limit set for them to hunt seals? can we be sure that the seals hunted are humanely handled and not using brutal methods which causes the seals more pain? we dont want another animal species to fall into our endangered species list, we have too many already! for whale hunting as well, is the limit set for whale hunting too high? mother whales only give birth to one calf at a time and being nature's gentle giants, they nurse their young for about a year, which makes their reproductive rate really low. we are really biting off more than we can chew here, whale hunting, seal hunting, bush meat trading and many more. then again, if i am thinking like the hunters, if the govts or environmental organisations cut off my supply of income by reducing my hunting limits, i will definitely try poaching. and all our problems start all over again. poaching has got to stop!
