Shark Fin Soup

hey guys!

so...today i broke a record. i have indirectly caused the death of some sharks. nope, i did not drink shark fin soup, but i went into a restaurant which served it. i know i know, i hate myself too...........well let me explain myself, my uncle said he knew a place which has amazing chicken rice so i thought they only sold CHICKEN!! who knew?! 2 seconds after we're seated, my brother pushed the first page of the menu in my face: Shark Fin Soup. darn it, i should have asked, i should have seen the dried shark fin displayed at the counter. oh kill me...i deserve to die. 84 bucks on the bill, that will be part of what's killing our sharks. BOO ME.

actually, think i might have mentioned on my personal blog before: i used to drink shark fin soup. until my sis stopped and explained to me about finning and how the sharks are thrown back into the ocean without their fins. amazing knowledge my sis...im glad she knew about finning and taught me about it, if not, this blog wouldn't exist and i will still be drinking shark fin soup! well, slowly but surely, we are going to help our sharks.

From now on, I will NOT step into any restaurants which serves Shark Fin soup. (unless of course, it's really really necessary...for businesses or weddings...) my cousin is getting married soon and his family is a REALLY REALLY traditional chinese family, i shall pluck up my courage to ask him NOT to serve Shark Fin Soup. wish me luck!

another thought: what if we stopped this shark finning thing, and the shark population gets soooo big that we have no more fish!!? and then we have to start hunting them again to balance out the population? oh man, i dont know. haha!
